I am honored to address you today on a matter of great significance that resonates deeply with our collective values and aspirations. At IGDTUW, we take immense pride in our commitment to academic excellence and our dedication to addressing pressing societal issues. Our university has emerged as a trailblazer, setting benchmarks not only in academia but also in our engagement with the broader community.
One of the hallmarks of our university's impact lies in the highly successful social outreach initiatives launched through the Centre for Sustainable Development (CSD). These initiatives are aimed at working towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), reflecting our unwavering commitment to global sustainability. The Centre for Sustainable Development (CSD) at IGDTUW is at the forefront of efforts to increase social awareness and outreach for the SDG Goals 2030 set by the UN. Through the dedicated efforts of six teams operating under the CSD umbrella, we cover 11 different SDG Goals. These teams have launched comprehensive campaigns addressing pressing issues related to the SDGs and have disseminated knowledge to more than a thousand students and members of the larger community. I am confident that the endeavors undertaken by IGDTUW students through the CSD will yield fruitful results and make significant contributions to the Global Sustainability Agenda. To achieve a sustainable model of multilateral outreach initiatives, it is imperative that such initiatives are youth-driven and extend beyond the boundaries of formal education curriculums. They must be initiatives of the students, by the students, and for the students. I extend my best wishes to the CSD teams as they continue their impactful work towards creating a more sustainable and equitable world.
